History of Cape Town Luxury Villas

Cape Town Luxury Villas founder, Nick Raymond Ball was born in Belgravia, London in 1971. His first visit to Cape Town was initially like most of our guests, a long deserved holiday In October 1999. However, Nick Ray was so impressed that in the days that followed he purchased an apartment and made plans to emigrate to South Africa and create an internet travel company. In February 2000, in continuance of his dream Nick Ray purchased the plot at number, 9 Hoopoe Av, Camps Bay and drew plans to build a luxury villa.

A few months after, he purchased www.CapeVillas.com. It would take Nick Ray, a computer programmer by trade, a further two years to create the website, as he personally pioneered the use of Macromedia Flash to create a virtual Tour of Cape Town, the Camps Bay area and the Cape Peninsular, imbedded within the Cape Villa website.

Nick Ray and Cape Villas made their first rental in October 2002, and quickly became the authority website for Villas in Cape Town. By 2004 using the virtual tours, Nick teamed up with the grandsons of Nelson Mandel and Walter Sisulu securing a Digital TV channel to show the work and attempted to connect the work to Galileo GDS to make a global virtual travel product.

In 2005, Cape Villas took exclusive management of their first 6 Star Villa, at 62 De Wet Rd, Bantry Bay, soon after followed by securing the mandate for 6 Nettleton Rd Clifton, these alongside three Camps Bay 4/5 Star properties. In the same year, Cape Villas acquired Cape Town Accommodatioin.org, which saw the introduction of Ms. Jenny Swienty to “Cape Villas” management, and today still Ms Swienty is central to all operations.

In 2006, Cape Villas opened offices 100 meters from the beach in Camps Bay and by 2007; the exclusive property portfolio was close to twenty properties. Also in 2007, a Ms. Zenda Scholtz was introduced to the Cape Villas management team, specializing in hospitality, and doing a fantastic job, with a parentally tricky department.

In 2008, Cape Villas made a strategic partnership with “Quintessentially,” collaborating in particular for TV shows in preparation for the upcoming World Cup. However 2008 is most fondly remembered mostly for the Cape Villas Magazine, created so spectacularly that BULGARI Jewellers (arguably the world’s most exclusive brand) phoned directly  and said: “WOW We did not know you had such luxuries in Africa” and presented an offer of sponsorship for the next publication.

In January 2009 30,000 editions for the magazine were distributed with Conde Nast Traveler UK. Later that year Conde Nast would acclaim Cape Villas as their only recommended Cape Town located Villas Company. A few months later at the Durban Travel Indaba, discussions regarding the exclusive FIFA 100 club and catering to the world’s elite were held with the CEO of FIFA’s hospitality department Match. Later in 2009, Cape Villas made a marketing deal with Diners Club International to become their preferred partner in Africa.

IN 2010 the FIFA World Cup came to Africa for the first time and during the festivities, in conjunction with our new Safari Brand “Experience Africa” a deal was struck with Sotheby’s International Realty Cape Town, to duplicate the Experience Africa.com website for them under the name African Concierge.

Whilst in actual practice the website had not been constructed to be copied in such a way, the concept of recreating a well-stocked website ready for other companies to sell from had been visualised and tested.

In 2011, this duplication website concept was written into a business plan for Virgin, Google and Facebook. We did not get to speak to any one from the companies so in 2012 the business plan continued and expanded into an economic hypothesises inspired by the conquest of rounding errors within chaos theory, made perfect by the inclusion of rules from string theory and supersymmetry. The work can be seen at www.AmericanButterfly.net

By February 2013 with the business plans well considered, we developed the first prototype, www.Cape-Town-Luxury-Villas.com. Yes Cape Town Luxury Villas is not only a website representing Cape Town’s finest villas, it is also the prototype for a new, more efficient global economy, digital in design. A Philanthropic and ecologically superior set of mathematics, destined to change the world.
